The playwrights
Terrance Newby is a writer, playwright and storyteller based in Roseville, MN. His first play, “The Cage,” had its debut showing at Dreamland Arts in September 2016. “The Cage” was later shown at other venues in the Twin Cities.
“Body Politic” is his second play at Dreamland. When not writing plays, he is completing work on a historical fiction novel based on John Brown’s 1859 raid at Harpers Ferry.
James Lundy is St. Paul playwright and hydrogeologist. It's all a collaboration: love to wife Sherryl and grown kids Sean and Rose for support; gratitude to Olaf of 40 years of friendship; thanks to Applause Community Theater cast and crew for fearless artistry. "The Red Tureen" (with Kevin Bowen, MN Fringe Festival 2009 and Eat Street Players 2011); Broken Hill (Eat Street Players and MN Fringe Festival, 2012); "Bird Icon" (Applause Community Theater, 2014); "Ten Minutes" (with Olaf Elander, Applause Community Theater, 2016).
Bob Galligan is a 2006 graduate of Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Saint Paul and the University of Minnesota's BFA in Acting program in 2010. He currently works as a brewer at Surly Brewing in the Twin Cities.
He wrote Embers for Applause back in 2012 and we are reviving it here as a companion piece to James Lundy's Ice Cubes.
